StarkPitch Shot Map
A pitch plot of shot attempts, often sized or coloured by outcome or xG.
Definition
A shot map places each attempt on the pitch so readers can see location clusters, volume, and sometimes quality or outcome (goal, save, block, off-target). It is a spatial summary of finishing opportunities, not a full tactical film.
Good reading combines volume, quality, and location. Ten low-xG attempts from distance are not equivalent to three high-xG chances in the six-yard area.
Caution
Do not invent formation stories the map cannot prove. Pair with video and a clear question before writing strong conclusions.
